Sometimes in May I twisted my ankle and that put me off running for three weeks. The ankle was twisted the first day of my running after I was off the road for a month due to allergies.
I was so excited to be finally back on the road, it felt good, I was picking up my pace and getting my rhythm going, until I got to this narrow trail rocky, dirt trail. It was at this point when I tried to see if I am followed, or mountain bikers coming from behind. The next thing when I looked back I was about to step on a rock, I over corrected and viola. I was so mad; I screamed and threw a tantrum.
This happened after about two miles away from work, so I had to limp back to work, with so much emotional pain.
After three weeks off running, I tried to run again and the pain was still there, I guess it takes more time to heal the older you get.

Luckily I was forced to take a break; my company started renovating bathrooms at the office, which started sometimes third week of May until this week (09-20-2009).This was good for me, for healing purpose. I walked a lot during this past three months, and realized how hard it is to walk 15minute a mile. I think it has also helped me to learn patience, I have a problem when I run 9minute a mile, you feel a pain longer than when you run 7minute a mile.

So, this week I started my running once again, and I am paying the price for missing summer runs. I am running at an average of 9minute a mile which I must say it takes disciple fro me to do this. It's going to be a little while before I get to run 8, sub 8 minute a mile.

The weather has been on and off but Thursday was the worse both weather-wise and my fitness wise. I struggled so badly. I guess I was fatigued, I was not suppose to be running everyday anyway, but I did that and I was forced to shutdown on the forth run of the week.
